INDIANAPOLIS (Aug. 29, 2011) –Mac Tools, an industry-leading hand tools manufacturer, will once again serve as the primary sponsorship partner on the Top Fuel hot rod driven by drag racing superstar Doug Kalitta when the red and black Mac Tools Top Fuel dragster takes to the track to compete in the world’s most prestigious drag racing event, the 57th annual running of the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis. Mac Tools served as the primary sponsor on Kalitta’s 8,000-horsepower Top Fueler from 2001 to 2008 and earlier this season at the NHRA Nationals event held in Norwalk, Ohio. “It’s great to see that big Mac Tools logo on the side of our dragster again,” Kalitta, a 47 year-old resident of Ann Arbor, Mich., said. “We’ve had great success throughout the years with our friends at Mac Tools and we’re always excited to race under their banner. “We’ve made some changes to the dragster since the previous event in Brainerd (Minn.), and we saw some great results from those changes when we tested in Indy last week. Kalitta and his team have posted three semi-final showings so far this season in Las Vegas, Houston, and Topeka, Kan. Kalitta, a 14-year drag racing veteran in the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, has amassed 32 NHRA Top Fuel title trophies in 64 final-round appearances.
