AKRON, Ohio (July 30, 2012) – Joey Saldana and Sammy Swindell split two victories as the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series spent the weekend in Canada. But Craig Dollansky recorded two top-five finishes and grabbed the lead in the championship standings. Dollansky finished fifth at Autodrome Granby in Granby, Quebec and was third at Autodrome Drummond in Drummond, Quebec. His consistency was enough to edge him ahead of Steve Kinser in the race for the title. Goodyear is the Official Tire Company of the WoO Sprint Car Series and is the exclusive tire supplier for the series. In addition, Goodyear is the title sponsor of the Goodyear Knoxville Nationals, the most prestigious event in winged sprint car racing. Sammy Swindell won Saturday’s race at Granby and Joey Saldana finished second. Saldana credited Swindell’s tire strategy, saying, “Sammy had a (Goodyear tread compound) 200 on the right rear. I would say the longer the race went, the better he got.” Saldana started sixth and said, “The 100s (tire compound) got me there.” Kinser finished third, followed by Cody Darrah and Dollansky. One night later, Kinser crashed out and created a golden opportunity for Dollansky. Saldana won at Autodrome Drummond in Drummond, Quebec. James McFadden was second, followed by Dollansky, Darrah and Kraig Kinser. Dollansky leads the chase for the championship with 5,911 points. Steve Kinser is second with 5,899. From: Lee Elder
