Bassett Starts In Back, Wins UARA Ract At Kingsport

  1. KINGSPORT, Tenn. (May 5, 2012) – Ronnie Bassett Jr. grabbed the lead with 10 laps remaining in the UARA-STARS 150 at Kingsport Speedway and won the race.

    He started in the back of the field.

    Goodyear is the exclusive tire provider for the UARA-STARS circuit. The bias-ply tires Goodyear provides for the competitors come from the most successful line of tires in short track racing. The UARA-STARS late model stock car series is among the most popular paved short track programs in the southeastern United States.

    Bassett passed Coleman Pressley for the lead late in the race, capping a terrific effort. Bassett started in the back of the 22-car starting field and steadily worked toward the front. Sammy Jasper finished second, followed by Kaleb Pressley and Sean Rayhall. Rayhall raced on his prom night.
