Thursday afternoon word came out that Steve Torrence was leaving Dexter Tuttle's team to form his own NHRA Top Fuel team. Torrence will drive his last race for Tuttle next week at Atlanta.
In an exclusive interview with RPM2Night.com, Tuttle said right now things are kind of on hold for his team.
"Steve and his dad, they were our primary sponsor." Tuttle said. "So, we really don't have any plans. I've gotten a lot of phone calls from people that want to drive the car. But, you know we gotta have money too. There are a couple of people who called that say they're interested and they have some money. But, I haven't been out talking to anybody, it hasn't gotten to that point."
While Tuttle has been fielding phone calls, nothing has been set in stone yet as far as the future of the team.
"We're still working on it. There seems to be some interest but, you know this all broke just Wednesday. I mean I knew Monday, midday, in the morning somtime."
